 When you notice a scratch in your laminate floor, your first reaction may be one of panic because of the unsightly scratch that you think everyone will see. You may think that you have to take up all of the flooring and replace the piece with the scratch in it. This may cause you even further panic because you may think the new piece of laminate may be a different shade or the color may even be gone out of stock. There are laminate floor repair kits available for minor scratches and these are available at home improvement stores. They are not expensive so it won't take a big bite out of your budget to fix the problems. These touch up kits include putty, either latex or acrylic as well as wax and crayons for you color the scratch the same color as your flooring. This will help you cover up small scratches and dents.

However, if you have a large scratch, such as a piece taken out of one board of the flooring, then you will have to take up the flooring to replace this one piece.
